My current career goals include applying conversational and generative AI to new fields such as child safety, health, sustainability, accessibility, education, and human rights. I'm also interested in defining design principles for cutting-edge technologies like wearables, affective computing, embodied AI, AR/VR, haptic devices, and brain-computer interaction. I'm also on a journey to learn visual design and product marketing skills, believing that great tech deserves an equally compelling story.

My expertise includes:

💬 Crafting Conversations: At Instacart and JP Morgan, I designed compelling, user-centric interactions to reduce call center costs and drive membership revenue, saving more than $3M over the course of a year and catering to more than 10M user sessions. Prior to that, I worked at Apple on AI Trust & Safety and Data-Driven AI Design. I also collaborated with Yahoo! via CMU to investigate rapport-building between humans and AI agents, publishing my first peer-reviewed paper in 2019.

🌐 Building Ethical AI Solutions: My commitment to crafting ethical AI extends beyond company projects. I contributed to the Open Voice Network's Ethical Guidelines for Voice Experiences, aiming to shape the industry's ethical practices. Currently, I advise on Conversational AI Ethics at Agnes Scott College, contributing to a grant proposal for a new course module on the topic.

👩‍🏫 Teaching for Empowerment: At Agnes Scott College, I teach conversational AI design to female liberal arts students. My goal is to dispel the myth that coding is the only path into tech and empower students from diverse backgrounds—creative writers, actors, psychologists—to bring their unique experience into the tech world.
